Editor's note: I found this letter on my desk one day last term, with no further contact details. I’m publishing it here because I’d love to know how these folks with suspicious pseudonyms found out about the genre stickers we have planned. Alex and Libris, if you’re reading this, please get in touch!

And to our other Connections readers: yes, the rumour is true. Stay tuned for more details about SCIS genre stickers!

Dear Connections Editor,

We heard a rumour that SCIS were considering making genre stickers for library books, using the SCIS fiction genre headings list.

If this is true, it will be an excellent resource for us in school library land!

It will enable us to use consistent, recognisable labelling for resources that correspond directly with their SCIS catalogue record.

It will also save us time, because we can use the SCIS record to identify genres for newly purchased fiction resources instead of having to spend time analysing the work and making decisions for every title.

Can you tell us when these stickers will be available, and how we can get our hands on some?
